A Mind’s Night Rest

The day sky is nothing but a melted air
thick and heavy
constantly moving
             slowly.
But there is something about the world
                                               that brings numbing relief.
The ocean ebbs
the rain falls
the leaf collects the morning dew.

I love to lie upon the world
                                  just for a moment
                                                          to forget what’s true.
